Plan Expiry
Section titled “Plan Expiry”When your paid plan is about to expire:
- 7 days before - You receive an email reminder with your expiry date
- On expiry - Your account is automatically downgraded to the Free plan
The platform checks for expired plans both when you log in and via a daily background job, so downgrades happen even if you haven’t visited the dashboard.
What Happens on Downgrade
Section titled “What Happens on Downgrade”When your plan is downgraded to Free (whether by expiry, cancellation, or admin action):
| Change | Details |
|---|---|
| Device limit | Reduced to 3. Excess devices are paused - the 3 most recently active devices stay online |
| Data retention | Reduced to 7 days. You receive a warning email, then a 3-day grace period before older data is deleted |
| API keys | All keys are revoked. You will need to create new ones if you upgrade again |
| Custom URLs | Public device/dashboard URLs are reset to auto-generated slugs |
| SMS alerts | Disabled |
| Webhooks | Remain configured but only work on paid plans |
Data Retention
Section titled “Data Retention”Each plan has a data retention period. Telemetry data older than your plan’s limit is subject to deletion:
| Plan | Retention |
|---|---|
| Free | 7 days |
| Starter | 90 days |
| Business | 1 year |
| Scale | 2 years |
| Enterprise | Custom |
How data cleanup works:
- The platform checks daily for data that exceeds your retention period
- If expired data is found, you receive a warning email listing how many records are at risk
- After a 3-day grace period, the expired data is permanently deleted
- You receive a confirmation email once deletion is complete
Deleting Devices
Section titled “Deleting Devices”You can delete a device from its detail page under the Danger Zone section.
- Click Delete Device
- Confirm in the dialog
- The device enters a 3-day grace period during which you can cancel the deletion
- After 3 days, the device and all its data (telemetry, alerts, snapshots, settings) are permanently removed
Inactive Device Cleanup (Free Plan)
Section titled “Inactive Device Cleanup (Free Plan)”On the Free plan, devices that have not sent any data for 30 days are automatically paused and you receive a warning email. If the device remains inactive for another 7 days after the warning, it and all its data are permanently deleted with no backup.
To prevent this, ensure your devices send data regularly, or upgrade to a paid plan (paid plan devices are never subject to inactive cleanup).
Inactive Account Cleanup
Section titled “Inactive Account Cleanup”To keep the platform healthy, accounts that show no sign of use are automatically cleaned up.
Unverified Accounts
Section titled “Unverified Accounts”If you register but never verify your email address, your account is automatically deleted after 30 days. No warning email is sent (since the email was never verified). You can re-register at any time.
Verified Inactive Accounts (Free Plan)
Section titled “Verified Inactive Accounts (Free Plan)”If all of the following are true, your account is considered inactive:
- You are on the Free plan
- You have no devices registered
- You have not logged in for 6 months (or, for accounts that never logged in after signup, 6 months since account creation)
- You do not have a pending account deletion already scheduled
When these conditions are met:
- You receive an email warning that your account will be deleted in 30 days
- If you log in, add a device, or upgrade your plan within those 30 days, the warning is cleared and your account is safe
- If none of those actions occur after 30 days, your account and all data are permanently deleted
Paid-plan accounts are never subject to inactive account cleanup, regardless of login activity.
Deleting Your Account
Section titled “Deleting Your Account”You can delete your entire account from Dashboard > Settings.
- Click Delete Account
- Confirm in the dialog
- Your account enters a 7-day grace period during which you can cancel
- After 7 days, all your data is permanently removed: devices, telemetry, alerts, snapshots, API keys, sessions, and profile
Account Termination
Section titled “Account Termination”In the vast majority of cases, you are in full control of your account and data. However, to protect all users and the integrity of the platform, we reserve the right to terminate accounts that are found to be in serious violation of our Terms of Service.
Examples of serious violations include:
- Security threats - attempting to access other users’ accounts, data, or devices
- Illegal activity - using the platform to facilitate unlawful actions
- Underage usage - accounts created by users who do not meet the minimum age requirement
- Platform abuse - deliberately overwhelming infrastructure, bypassing security controls, or disrupting service for others
What happens
Section titled “What happens”- We will attempt to send an email notification to the account’s registered email address explaining the termination
- Depending on the severity of the violation, the standard 7-day grace period may be shortened or waived
- All associated data (devices, telemetry, alerts, snapshots, API keys, and profile) will be permanently removed
- You are welcome to contact us if you believe the action was taken in error
